On December 11, 2022, a group of 13 Homebush residents met at the library in Abbotsford Road to form a local group for the betterment of the suburb. The objective is to improve the amenity and appearance of the streets in the suburb.
Those 13 residents, together with another half a dozen who couldn’t attend, decided to form and register the Homebush Residents’ Group, Inc. (“HRG”). The NSW Government registered HRG on December 19, 2022.
The group will be run by volunteers and be funded by member donations. With an annual budget of $100-400 per annum, the proposed donations will not be significant. Initially, it will be $20 per household, and is expect to fall to $5 per household over the subsequent years as we will not have the establishment costs of registration.
